NPC legacy site
Although no new Medicines and prescribing content will be published to the NPC legacy website, the extensive catalogue of existing publications, resources and e-learning materials will still be available to view and download for as long as the information contained within them remains accurate and up-to-date. All future Medicines and prescribing outputs will be published on the NICE website and signposted from the Medicines and prescribing homepage.
The NPC facilitator (NPCF) programme is a new initiative developed by the NPC, which incorporates the skills and knowledge from our previous local therapeutic, medicines management and decision-making facilitator roles, and combines them with learning from other NPC programmes such as non-medical prescribing and controlled drug accountable officers.
The aim of the NPC facilitator programme is:
“To support regional implementation of the QIPP in relation to prescribing and medicines management”.
To achieve this aim, NPCFs will each focus on one of ten geographical regions across England; working with locally defined networks including emerging commissioning consortia, PCT clusters, and other existing NHS organisations, (such as Secondary Care and Mental Health Trusts) in order to:
