NPC Facilitator Programme

NPC legacy site

Although no new Medicines and prescribing content will be published to the NPC legacy website, the extensive catalogue of existing publications, resources and e-learning materials will still be available to view and download for as long as the information contained within them remains accurate and up-to-date. All future Medicines and prescribing outputs will be published on the NICE website and signposted from the Medicines and prescribing homepage.

The aim of the NPC facilitator programme is:

“To support regional implementation of the QIPP in relation to prescribing and medicines management”.

To achieve this aim, NPCFs will each focus on one of ten geographical regions across England; working with locally defined networks including emerging commissioning consortia, PCT clusters, and other existing NHS organisations, (such as Secondary Care and Mental Health Trusts) in order to:

  • Identify current issues relating to the use of medicines and support the development of action plans.
  • Provide advice and support to key individuals to allow them to cascade relevant information within their own organisations.
  • Signpost individuals or organisations to further NPC support.
  • Facilitate the identification and sharing of good practice.
